NERDC Denies Fake Funding Request for Curriculum Printing

The Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC) has issued a disclaimer regarding a fraudulent document circulating that requests financial support for the production, printing, and distribution of the Revised Basic Education Curriculum (BEC) for the 2026/2027 academic session. On Monday in Abuja, Executive Secretary Professor Salisu Shehu described the document as fictitious, frivolous, and unauthorized.

He clarified that NERDC has not solicited financial assistance from any institution for this purpose and urged the public to ignore such requests. The Council has already established adequate plans for the effective production and distribution of the revised curriculum through appropriate federal and state authorities, agencies, and departments in the education sector.

Shehu reassured stakeholders of NERDC's commitment to maintaining diligence in official communications and protecting the integrity of Nigeria’s national curriculum, emphasizing that all legitimate information will be disseminated through official channels.
