EFCC Arraigns Man Over Stolen iPhone in Lagos Court

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Lagos Zonal Director arraigned Philip Patrick Jordan before Justice Rahman Oshodi at the Special Offences Court in Ikeja, Lagos, on January 29, 2026. Jordan is accused of stealing and unlawfully dealing with forfeited property, specifically an iPhone 14 Pro, belonging to the Federal Government of Nigeria.

The charges include theft and dealing with property subject to forfeiture without due authorization, contrary to the EFCC Establishment Act 2004. Jordan allegedly took the iPhone without authorization and was caught on CCTV committing the act.

Despite initially denying the allegations, Jordan pleaded not guilty to the charges. The prosecution requested a trial date and for the defendant to be remanded, while the defense sought bail.

The court declined the bail application and adjourned the case to commence trial on March 3, 2026.
