EFCC Arrests Woman for Cleaning Nose with N500 Note

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested a woman named Fatima Muham in Maiduguri on Tuesday, April 7, 2025, for allegedly using a N500 note to clean her nose. This arrest followed the circulation of a viral video on TikTok that showed her engaging in this act.

The Maiduguri zonal director of the EFCC reported that the agency traced and apprehended Muham within the Maiduguri metropolitan area after the video was released. She is currently being held at the EFCC's Maiduguri detention facility while investigations continue.

The commission stated that she will be charged in court once the investigation is concluded.
