EFCC Enhances Collaboration with Anti-Corruption Agencies

On Wednesday, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), led by Executive Chairman Ola Olukoyede, convened a strategic meeting at its corporate headquarters in Abuja with key anti-corruption agencies, including the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), and the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP). The meeting aimed to establish a stronger collaborative framework to combat corruption and financial crimes in Nigeria, particularly focusing on procurement fraud, which Olukoyede noted accounts for 80% of public sector corruption.

The meeting was attended by notable figures such as BPP Director General Dr. Adebowale Adedokun, ICPC Chairman Dr.

Musa Adamu Aliyu, and CCB Chairman Dr. Abdulahi Usman Bello.

Olukoyede emphasized the need for these agencies to work synergistically to improve intelligence gathering and facilitate investigations. The meeting proposed quarterly reviews to assess progress and enhance operational standards among the agencies involved.
