EFCC Recovers N1.23tn and $684m in 32 Months

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) reported recoveries totaling N1.23 trillion, $684.48 million, £373,905.78, and €9.34 million between October 1, 2023, and June 30, 2026. EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede disclosed these figures during a media briefing in Abuja, emphasizing that asset recovery is a major focus of the commission's efforts against financial crimes.

Of the naira recoveries, N397.26 billion, or 33 percent, was recovered directly for the Federal Government, while N836.34 billion, representing 67 percent, was recovered on behalf of various ministries. Olukoyede reiterated that asset recovery is essential for combating economic and financial crimes and protecting public resources.
