EFCC Releases Activists Randy Peter and Mama Pee

Activists Randy Peter and Mama Pee were released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) shortly after midnight on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, following several hours of questioning. They were invited to the EFCC's office in Abuja, where they spent approximately 11 hours before being allowed to leave.

Their release occurred around 12:00 AM, and they were asked to return to the EFCC office on Thursday, July 16, 2026. Concerns about their whereabouts had mounted, particularly as they were associated with the presidential campaign of Peter Obi, the candidate for the National Democratic Congress.

Esther Umoh, a representative of Peter Obi's campaign, revealed that the activists had not left the EFCC office for several hours, prompting speculation on social media regarding their potential arrest. However, Justice Crack later confirmed their release, although the EFCC did not publicly disclose the reasons for their invitation.
