Activists Peter Akah and Mama Pee Defy EFCC Intimidation

Activist Peter Akah, also known as Mama Pee, stated they would not be silenced after being questioned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) regarding allegations of naira abuse. Following a second round of questioning, Akah and Mama Pee expressed their determination to continue advocating for better governance in Nigeria and reaffirmed their support for Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, ahead of the 2027 elections.

Akah mentioned that their release from EFCC headquarters in Abuja occurred around midnight after a lengthy interrogation. They clarified that the allegations against them were unfounded and emphasized the need for the government to address insecurity rather than targeting critics.

Mama Pee urged Nigerians to obtain their permanent voter cards in preparation for the upcoming elections. Both activists maintained that no amount of harassment would deter their commitment to demanding accountability from the government.
