EFCC Releases Peter Obi's Supporters After Interrogation

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) released two supporters of Peter Obi, Randi Peter and Precious Oruch, popularly known as Mama Pee, after an 11-hour interrogation on July 15, 2026. They were invited to the EFCC headquarters to explain their activities in support of Obi, who is the presidential candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

Their release occurred late Wednesday, around midnight, after several hours of engagement with EFCC officials. The invitation raised concerns on social media regarding their whereabouts, prompting fellow activists to express their support.

Justice Crack, an activist, confirmed the release and mentioned that the duo was instructed to return to the commission the following day, July 16, 2026. As of the time of their release, the EFCC had not issued an official statement regarding the nature of the engagement with the two activists.
