Egor Community Demands Fair Representation in Elections

Mr. Imafidon Peter Osagi, representing the Egor community in Ikpoba-Okha Constituency, has called for equitable representation in the House of Representatives, highlighting a historical political imbalance that has persisted since 1999.

He noted that the Ikpoba-Okha local government area has held the seat for 20 years, while Egor has only had representation for eight years. Osagi emphasized the need for fair political ownership and equitable representation to reflect the interests of both local governments.

He warned that continued political imbalance could lead to discontent and weaken political cohesion within the constituency. Osagi urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) to ensure that the candidate selection process addresses this imbalance, asserting that the Egor community must not be seen as junior partners in political representation.

He called on voters and community leaders to support this push for equitable representation, stressing that democracy thrives on inclusivity and fairness.
