NSCDC Deploys 3,400 Personnel for Eid-el-Fitr Security

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has mobilized a substantial force of 3,400 personnel throughout Kano State to ensure security during the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations. Hassan Moham Agalama, the state commandant, disclosed this information in a statement issued on Tuesday.

The deployment is part of a proactive strategy to guarantee a peaceful and hitch-free celebration while protecting critical national assets. Ibrahim Idri Abdullahi, the command's public relations officer, noted that special attention would be given to safeguarding vital infrastructure, including power installations, water facilities, and telecommunications masts.

The NSCDC has also established an intelligence surveillance unit and a rapid response team to address any emerging security threats. Residents are urged to remain vigilant and cooperate with security operations, reporting any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities.

The Eid-el-Fitr celebrations are expected to take place on Thursday, March 19, and Friday, March 20, 2026.
