Sultan Urges Peace Amid Eid-el-Fitr Celebrations

On the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, Sultan Muhammad Sa'ad Abubakar, the President-General of Jama'atu Nasril Islam (JNI), extended congratulations to the Nigerian Muslim community for successfully completing the 1447 AH Ramadan fast. In a statement issued by JNI Secretary-General Khalid Abubakar Aliyu, the Sultan described this period as one for deep reflection and prayer, urging Muslims to renew their commitment to righteous living and to continue their spiritual discipline beyond Ramadan.

He recommended observing six days of fasting in Shawwal, known as Sittah Shawwal. The Sultan also called on Nigerian Muslims to intensify prayers for peace and stability, particularly as the 2027 general elections approach, emphasizing that national stability is a prerequisite for good governance.

Furthermore, he appealed to world leaders to de-escalate the ongoing tensions involving Iran, the United States, and Israel, warning that prolonged conflict could have devastating consequences for global peace and economic stability, especially affecting fragile nations like Nigeria.
