Kano State Donates Cows and Food to Inmates for Eid

On Tuesday, during the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, the Kano State Government donated 15 cows and food items to inmates across correctional centers in the state. The donation was made by Hajiya Azumi Namadi Bebeji, the chairperson of the Kano State Committee on Prerogative of Mercy.

The food items included 115 bags of 50kg rice, 40 jerry cans of 25kg vegetable oil, assorted soup ingredients, among others. Bebeji stated that this gesture reflects the commitment of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf's administration to the welfare and dignity of inmates.

She urged continued prayers for peace, unity, and sustainable progress in the state. The Nigeria Correctional Service, represented by NCO Ahm Yusuf Lakpen, commended the state government for its ongoing support to inmates, stating that the donation would boost their morale and enable them to celebrate the Sallah season with a sense of belonging.

Lakpen reaffirmed the command's commitment to the welfare and rehabilitation of inmates in line with global best practices.
