ADC Candidate Bejid Rejects Ekiti Election Results

Dare Bejid, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for the Ekiti State governorship election, publicly rejected the results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday. Bejid described the election as a "mockery of democracy," asserting that the electoral exercise lacked credibility.

He alleged that there was widespread vote buying, intimidation of voters, and irregularities that undermined the integrity of the electoral process. Bejid claimed that the atmosphere during the election was akin to a "war zone," with influential figures mobilizing thugs to influence the outcome.

He noted that significant sums of money were distributed to voters in broad daylight without intervention from security agencies. Bejid stated that preliminary reviews of the results indicated cases of vote alteration, and he emphasized that the ADC had run an extensive grassroots campaign, receiving substantial support from various segments of the population.

He called for calm and patience as the party analyzes the results to determine the next steps.
