Tinubu Unveils Ekiti Knowledge Zone as Innovation Hub

During a groundbreaking ceremony on Tuesday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu stated that the Ekiti Knowledge Zone (EKZ) is set to become Nigeria's leading hub for innovation, research, and job creation. The project, located in Ado Ekiti, is part of a broader initiative to unlock the economic potential of Ekiti State.

Tinubu praised Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his visionary leadership and strategic partnerships aimed at developing the state. He emphasized that education remains the greatest heritage of the Ekiti people and highlighted the importance of investing in technology and innovation.

The EKZ project, originally conceived during former Governor Kayode Fayemi's administration in August 2013, is aligned with a 30-year development plan to transform the state's economy. The project has secured an $80 million funding package from the federal government and the African Development Bank, which Tinubu noted would serve as a major catalyst for economic growth and technological investment in Nigeria and across Africa.
