Ayo Arise Sues APC Over Ekiti North Primary Outcome

Ayo Arise, a former senatorial aspirant for the Ekiti North district, has confirmed that he has filed a lawsuit against the All Progressives Congress (APC) regarding the recent senatorial primary results. Arise claims he won the primary exercise but was omitted from the party's candidate list.

He stated that his decision to take legal action was made immediately after the primary, emphasizing the importance of adhering to the timelines stipulated in the Electoral Act. Arise expressed that the legal action is not personally motivated but aims to ensure that political parties comply with their own rules and uphold democratic principles.

He noted that the APC's actions were inconsistent with its own guidelines governing the conduct of primary elections. Arise filed the suit within the legally prescribed period to avoid losing the opportunity for judicial intervention, asserting that the court will determine the validity of the primary process and the rightful candidates.
