Batagarawa Advocates Legal Protection for El-Rufai

Lawal Batagarawa, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has publicly stated that former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai should receive full protection under the law. This statement comes in response to allegations involving a wiretapping case linked to the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC).

Batagarawa emphasized that El-Rufai is entitled to fair treatment as a Nigerian citizen. His remarks were made during a live interview on Trust TV.

The allegations against El-Rufai's wife, Hadiza Isma, involve claims of corrupt practices and the discovery of wiretap devices at their Abuja residence. The ICPC had previously reported that these devices were capable of intercepting confidential communications and accessing classified security materials.

In a social media post, Hadiza Isma denied the allegations, asserting that there is no truth to the claims made against them.
