El-Rufai Family Disowns Fake Letter to ADC Leadership

The family of Nasir El-Rufai, the former Governor of Kaduna State, issued a statement disowning a letter that has been circulating on social media, which was purportedly signed by him and addressed to the leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). The statement, released on Thursday by his son, Mohammed Bello El-Rufai, described the letter, titled “Urgent Message” and dated July 14, 2026, as fake.

The family emphasized that neither the content nor the handwriting belonged to El-Rufai, urging the public to ignore the document. The letter raised concerns regarding the nomination of Isah Ashiru as the ADC governorship candidate in Kaduna State, alleging that Ashiru had not completed the party’s online membership registration by the April 30, 2026 deadline.

The family condemned the letter as an attempt by El-Rufai's detractors to create confusion and division within the party, labeling it as a desperate act of primitive politics.
