Wike: 2027 Campaigns Won't Distract Infrastructure Projects

Barr. Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), asserted that the start of political campaigns for the 2027 general elections will not distract his administration from executing ongoing infrastructure projects.

Wike made this statement after inspecting the construction of Arterial Road N16, which connects Ring Road II to Ring Road III, and the 7.3-kilometre Tunga Madaki-Zuba Road, which links to the Abuja-Kaduna Highway. The Arterial Road project is being managed by CBC Global, while the Tunga Madaki-Zuba Road is under the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC).

Wike emphasized that the administration's performance is its primary campaign strategy, stating that visible transformations in the FCT serve as a strong message for President Bola Tinubu's administration. He expressed satisfaction with the progress of both road projects, with completion dates set for January and December, respectively.

Wike also approved the relocation of electricity poles to facilitate streetlight installation along the routes.
