Wike: 2027 Campaigns Won't Distract Infrastructure Projects

On Wednesday, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), asserted that the initiation of political campaigns for the 2027 general elections will not impede the progress of ongoing infrastructure projects. He emphasized that the administration's primary campaign strategy is its performance, stating, “We are already campaigning with our performance.” Wike highlighted the importance of demonstrating tangible achievements to the public, noting that the visible transformation in the Federal Capital Territory serves as a strong campaign message for President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

He mentioned that the FCTA has fulfilled its promises, which positions them favorably for future elections. Wike made these remarks while inspecting the construction of the Arterial Road N16 and the Tunga Madaki-Zuba road, both significant infrastructure projects being executed by CBC Global and China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), respectively.

He expressed satisfaction with the progress of the Arterial Road N16 project, with the contractor assuring completion by January.
