NUEE Suspends Nationwide Strike After MoU Signing with TCN

The National Union of Electricity Employees (NUEE) in Nigeria has suspended a nationwide indefinite strike that was declared due to unresolved welfare and operational disputes with the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN). The strike, which began on Wednesday, was halted following a meeting convened by the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, involving the union, TCN management, and other stakeholders.

The issues raised by NUEE included concerns over staff welfare, operational tools, salaries, and retirement benefits. The strike was suspended after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to address the grievances.

Key signatories to the MoU included representatives of the Ministry of Power, Ministry of Labour, TCN, and the labor unions involved.
