Emir of Daura Honors Folashade Tinubu-Ojo with Title

On [date not specified], the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Faruk Umar, conferred the traditional title of Jakadiyar Kasar Hausa on Folashade Tinubu-Ojo, who is the Iyaloja-General of Lagos and the daughter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The ceremony took place at the Emir’s Palace in Daura, shortly after the Hawan Magajiya, also known as Sallar Gani.

The Emir also honored Hannatu Musa Musawa, the Minister of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, with the title of Mairamar Kasar Hausa. The event was attended by prominent government officials, traditional rulers, dignitaries, and several female traditional title holders.

The Emirate stated that the titles were conferred in recognition of the recipients’ contributions to society, particularly their efforts in promoting cultural heritage, empowering women, and supporting community development. The ceremony highlighted the enduring cultural traditions of the Daura Emirate and the role of traditional institutions in recognizing individuals who contribute to the preservation and promotion of Hausa culture and heritage.

State Governor Dikko Umar Radda and other dignitaries were present at the ceremony.
