NERC Partners with AfDB and ECN to Boost Energy Access

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has reinforced its partnerships with the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) to improve electricity access across Nigeria. This initiative follows a meeting with a delegation from AfDB, led by Mr.

Chigoziri Egeruoh, which provided updates on the implementation of Nigeria's electrification project. The discussions highlighted significant achievements and ongoing efforts to extend electricity access to underserved and unserved communities throughout the country.

The NERC delegation introduced AfDB to the Desert Power Initiative, a flagship renewable energy program designed to accelerate the deployment of clean energy solutions across Africa, aiming to expand sustainable electricity access for millions of people. The visit by the AfDB delegation included key stakeholders from the energy sector, including Dr.

Mustapha Abdullahi, the Director General of ECN.
