NCDMB and Southfield Partner on Utorogu Gas Plant

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has partnered with Southfield Petroleum Limited (SPL) to execute the Utorogu Gas Plant project, which will process 200 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) of gas. This initiative is part of the federal government's efforts to increase domestic gas supply for power generation and industrial use.

The project was highlighted by the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Heineken Lokpobiri, during a ceremony, where he described it as a significant step towards addressing Nigeria's energy challenges in line with President Bola Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda. The project aims to ensure energy security and stimulate industrial growth in Nigeria.

Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, represented by Chief Peter Uviejitobor, assured that the NCDMB would provide the necessary support to ensure the project's timely completion. The Chairman of SPL, Dr.

Patrick Ndiomu, emphasized the project's focus on unlocking the value of gas products to enhance supply.
