England Appoints Tom Smith as Spin-Bowling Coach

England has appointed former Gloucestershire bowler Tom Smith as the spin-bowling coach for the England Women's Cricket Team. Smith, a 38-year-old former left-arm spinner, will join Charlotte Edwards' coaching team this summer.

His role will involve working with established spin bowlers such as Sophie Ecclestone, Linsey Smith, Tilli Corteen, and Coleman Chari, as well as all-rounders like Charlie Dean, Alice Capsey, and Sarah Glenn. Smith expressed his excitement about the opportunity, highlighting his nearly 20-year professional playing career, notably with Gloucestershire, and his coaching experience with Birmingham Phoenix Women.

The appointment comes as England prepares for a significant summer, including a home series against New Zealand, India, and Ireland, leading up to the Women's T20 World Cup, which begins on June 12.
