Umo Eno Reaffirms Respect for Udom Emmanuel at Memorial

Umo Eno, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, pledged to respect his predecessor, Udom Emmanuel, and all past leaders during a memorial service for his late wife, Patience Eno, held at All Nations Christian Ministry International in Eket Local Government Area. Eno addressed misinterpretations of his comments made during the commissioning of a 14km road in Onna LGA, where he responded to a request from the Paramount Ruler regarding moribund industries.

He clarified that his use of the Ibibio word “Unadot,” meaning “people,” was not derogatory and was directed towards the community. Eno emphasized that he has never disrespected Udom Emmanuel and reiterated his commitment to maintaining respect for past leaders.

He also paid tribute to his late wife, describing her as integral to their family and commended their daughter, Helen Eno-Obareki, for writing a book in her honor titled “The Patience to Build: Lessons from my Mother.” Patience Eno passed away on September 26, 2024.
