Enugu State to Recruit 6,500 Teachers for Smart Schools

The Enugu State Government, under Governor Peter Mbah, has approved the recruitment of more than 6,500 qualified teachers, technical personnel, and administrative staff for public primary and secondary schools, particularly targeting the state's 267 Smart Green Schools. This recruitment is part of the administration's education reform agenda aimed at improving teaching and learning quality.

The initiative is designed to strengthen the education sector's manpower and create job opportunities for qualified Nigerians. Successful candidates will be assigned to schools based on vacancies and operational needs, especially within the Smart Green Schools.

Applicants for teaching positions must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed.), a relevant Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), or a Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE). Additionally, candidates must provide proof of registration with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) and possess a valid National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge or exemption certificate.

Practical knowledge of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is mandatory for all applicants.
