Enugu State to Distribute Inputs to 63,000 Farmers

The Enugu State Government is set to distribute agricultural inputs to 63,000 smallholder farmers to boost agricultural productivity for the upcoming farming season. This initiative follows the successful intervention last year, which benefited 40,000 farmers.

The inputs include fertilizers, agrochemicals, and various seeds aimed at reducing agricultural production costs and improving farmers' livelihoods. The distribution will be flagged off on July 21, with strict monitoring to ensure that registered farmers receive the benefits.

In addition, the government has approved the employment of 4,698 teachers to maintain educational standards across 267 smart green schools in the state. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance educational outcomes and ensure that no teacher is left behind, with all teachers undergoing thorough training.

The government is also taking proactive measures in response to health concerns following the Ebola outbreak in East Africa, ensuring readiness for any potential health crises.
