Mudryk Appeals Four-Year Doping Ban to CAS

Mykhailo Mudryk, a 25-year-old winger for Chelsea FC, is appealing a four-year doping ban imposed by the Football Association (FA) following a positive urine test. The provisional suspension began in November 2024, and the FA formally charged him in June 2025, resulting in the maximum ban.

The appeal was lodged with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Switzerland on February 25, 2026. Mudryk's legal team, which includes Morgan Sport Law Firm, aims to challenge the ban, which has not been fully detailed by the FA.

The appeal process is ongoing, with written submissions currently being exchanged. Mudryk, who joined Chelsea for €70 million in January 2023, expressed shock at the ban and has been training with non-league Uxbridge FC while awaiting the outcome.

He has also hired a private coach to maintain his fitness. The FA has declined to comment on the ongoing case.
