Mudryk Appeals FA Drugs Ban at Court of Arbitration

Mykhailo Mudryk, a 25-year-old Ukrainian international footballer, is contesting a drugs ban imposed by the Football Association (FA) at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). The FA has charged Mudryk with a doping violation related to the cardiovascular drug meldonium, which he reportedly tested positive for during international duties in October 2024.

This substance is known to boost stamina and respiratory capacity. As a result, Mudryk faces a suspension that could last until December 2024, with formal charges expected by June 2025.

The court in Switzerland has been informed of the situation. Mudryk, who joined Chelsea in January 2023 for £70 million, has not played in competitive matches since November 2024.

His legal team, which has experience handling cases involving athletes like Paul Pogba, is determined to resolve the matter and allow him to return to football.
