Rooney Critiques Man Utd Board Over Transfer Errors

Wayne Rooney, a Manchester United legend, has publicly criticized the club's board for two significant transfer mistakes made during the summer transfer window. He expressed that the board has left current manager Michael Carrick "short" by not acquiring a new striker and a left-back.

Rooney pointed out that Manchester United concentrated solely on enhancing Carrick's midfield options, signing players such as Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans, and Carlos Baleba. He stated, “United lack a No. 9,” referencing the absence of a fully fit striker, specifically mentioning Sesko's pre-season absence.

Rooney also noted that Luke Shaw would not be able to play every match, and highlighted the issue of players being placed in unfamiliar positions, which he believes should have prompted the club to recruit additional players to strengthen the squad. He concluded that the current squad lacks the depth necessary for competition, indicating that Carrick has been left without adequate resources.
