Armed Forces Study Tour Enhances Community Security in Kogi

Abiodun Essiet, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Kogi State, and Governor Ahm Usman Ododo hosted participants of a study tour organized by the Armed Forces Command and Staff College at Jaji. The initiative aimed to strengthen national security through grassroots collaboration, with the theme promoting community engagement to enhance national security and prosperity.

During the visit, interactive engagement sessions were held, providing a platform for robust discussions on practical strategies to tackle insecurity, including government and community participation and inter-agency cooperation. Dr.

Essiet emphasized the importance of building trust and strategic partnerships to achieve lasting peace and development. She noted that effective community engagement is a vital tool for bridging the gap between citizens and security institutions, promoting national stability and prosperity.

The need for sustained cooperation among government institutions, the Nigerian Armed Forces, and security agencies was also highlighted to advance policies that support unity, peacebuilding, and socio-economic development across the country.
