Ex-IGP Mohammed Adamu Becomes SDP Candidate for Nasarawa

Mohammed Adamu, the former Inspector-General of Police, has emerged as the governorship candidate for the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Nasarawa State for the 2027 election. His candidacy was confirmed during a replacement primary held in Lafia on Saturday, where he was the sole aspirant.

The announcement was made by Barrister Joseph Achille, Chairman of the SDP Electoral Committee for Nasarawa State, at the collation center in Ta’al Hotel. A total of 28,637 delegates participated in the primary, which Achille described as peaceful and credible.

Adamu received the highest lawful valid votes, leading to his declaration as the SDP flag-bearer. Following his nomination, Adamu expressed his commitment to addressing issues of poor governance in the state, focusing on rural infrastructure and healthcare.

He emphasized the need for improvements in neglected roads and social amenities, pledging to present an alternative development plan for the residents of Nasarawa State.
