Jordon Ibe Sentenced for Assault on Ex-Girlfriend

Jordon Ibe, a 30-year-old former player for Liverpool and Bournemouth, was sentenced to a 12-month community order after pleading guilty to assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Amie Mayson. The incident occurred outside her home in Lambeth in December, where Ibe pulled a braid from Mayson’s head during an argument, resulting in a bald patch.

Initially denying the charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in March, Ibe later changed his plea to guilty. Representing himself in Croydon Magistrates’ Court, he acknowledged his actions as a “serious mistake” and expressed genuine remorse, stating, “I understand it is wrong.” Magistrate Brij Kalia imposed a community order that includes 80 hours of unpaid work and 27 days of rehabilitation activity.

Additionally, Ibe was ordered to pay £764, which comprised a £114 surcharge and £650 in court costs. Ibe began his career at Wycombe Wanderers before moving to Liverpool and later played for Bournemouth, also representing England’s Under-21 team.
