Ndu Challenges Tinubu, Atiku, Obi to Debate on Nigeria's Future

Alhaji Yahaya Ndu, a former presidential candidate and leader of the defunct African Renaissance Party, has publicly challenged President Bola Tinubu, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi to a debate. Ndu expressed concern over Nigeria's status as a "failed state" and criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for its lack of ideological focus and governance amid worsening insecurity and economic hardship.

He highlighted the need for a robust debate among presidential aspirants to propose practical solutions to the country's challenges. Ndu, who pioneered Nigeria's first presidential debate in Enugu in 1992, emphasized that the current political landscape is dominated by a focus on winning elections rather than good governance.

He also called for a dialogue involving various professional and cultural organizations to address Nigeria's multifaceted challenges. The statement was issued on Friday in Enugu, and Ndu's challenge extends to former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso and former Minister of Transport Rotimi Amaechi.
