Unilorin's Success Attributed to No-Strike Policy

Emmanuel Obafemi, the former registrar of the University of Ilorin, revealed that the university remains the most patronized in Nigeria due to its consistent no-strike policy, which has attracted admission seekers for over 50 years. He made these remarks during a special senate program honoring the late Prof. Abdulganiyu Ambali, who served as the university's vice chancellor from October 2012 to October 2017.

Obafemi noted that Ambali's tenure was marked by a commitment to maintaining an uninterrupted academic calendar, which has become a defining strength of the institution. The university community mourned Ambali's passing while celebrating his contributions, including promoting religious harmony and advancing veterinary pharmaceutical education.

A monument will be erected on campus to honor his legacy. Prof. Ishaq Oloyed and Prof. Raheem Adebayo Lawal also paid tribute to Ambali, recognizing his humility and dedication to mentorship and research.
