Former UNILORIN Vice-Chancellor Ambali Dies at 68

Ambali, the former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, died at the age of 68 on a Friday night, with his family reporting that he passed away around 3 AM. He was scheduled to have his janazah at 4 PM at his residence along Air Force Road in Ilorin.

Ambali served as the ninth Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin from 2012 to 2017 and had a distinguished career in veterinary medicine, spanning over three decades. He was also the chairman of the pro-chancellor at Kwara State University at the time of his death.

Born on November 29, 1957, in Ilorin, he obtained his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Ahmadu Bello University in 1981 and later earned a Master's degree and PhD in veterinary medicine from the University of Liverpool. Ambali published 80 scholarly articles and was recognized for his contributions to education and veterinary medicine.

His death has been described as a significant loss by various organizations, including the Emir of Ilorin and the IEDPU.
