Olarewaju Denies Rule-Breaking in APC Primary Victory

Ibrahim Olarewaju, a former senior special assistant to President Bola Tinubu, has dismissed claims that he violated rules during his successful bid for the APC primary ticket for the Ekiti North Federal Constituency II seat. In a statement made available by Mose Owoyemi on behalf of Olarewaju's media team, he emphasized that he fully complied with constitutional and legal requirements to participate in the primary elections.

Olarewaju's resignation from his position as senior special assistant took effect on March 31, 2026, in accordance with directives for political appointees seeking elective office. He refuted allegations suggesting his participation in the primary violated any laws, stating that such claims are misleading.

The primary election was conducted peacefully, reflecting the will of accredited delegates. Olarewaju urged APC members and the public to disregard unsupported speculations and reaffirmed his commitment to uniting stakeholders within the party in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
