Bamiloye Defends Adeboye Against Protest Criticism

Evangelist Mike Bamiloye, founder of Mount Zion Faith Ministries, defended Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God amid mixed reactions to Adeboye's comments on national security challenges. On Tuesday, Adeboye shared a video urging the federal government to issue a 90-day ultimatum for service chiefs to eliminate terrorism or resign, which sparked public debate.

Bamiloye criticized bloggers for misrepresenting Adeboye's stance, stating that it is unreasonable to expect an 84-year-old minister to lead street protests. He emphasized that Adeboye has consistently spoken against societal evils and that the church's role is to pray for peace rather than engage in political demonstrations.

The Redeemed Christian Church of God clarified that a viral photograph of Adeboye holding a placard during a 2020 peace prayer walk was not a political protest against any administration. The church maintains a neutral political stance, encouraging members to exercise civic responsibility without endorsing specific political parties.
