Experts Urge Strategy to Combat Illegal Wildlife Trade

During a workshop in Bogotá, Colombia, Ms. Ivonne Higuero, the Secretary General, emphasized the need for a reduction strategy to combat illegal wildlife trade.

He noted that there is a growing consensus within the international community to address the root causes of illegal wildlife trade and understand the dynamics driving demand for wildlife products.

Latin America, home to approximately 40% of the planet's biodiversity, is particularly vulnerable to illegal wildlife trafficking, making it a key region for global conservation efforts.
