Ezekwesili Backs Badejo-Okusanya for NBA Presidency

Dr. Obi Ezekwesili, a former minister and founder of the Fix Politics Nigeria initiative, endorsed Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, in her bid for the presidency of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA). Ezekwesili praised Badejo-Okusanya's credentials and vision for the bar, expressing delight at her candidacy.

She highlighted Badejo-Okusanya's extensive experience, courage, and consistent advocacy for professional ethics and governance, emphasizing the need for the legal profession to engage more frequently in improving conditions for young lawyers. Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya was born on January 15, 1967, and is a distinguished legal practitioner and scholar.

She attended the University of Lagos and earned a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1987, later obtaining a law degree from the Nigerian Law School in 2000. She was called to the Nigerian Bar on May 14, 2002, and served as the General Counsel to the Governor of Lagos State, playing a pivotal role in developing the landmark Lagos State Home Ownership Mortgage Scheme during the Babatunde Fashola administration.

She returned to private legal practice in June 2015 and was conferred the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in September 2025.
