Fake DG Charged with Fraud for Forging Presidential Letter

Adeniyi Adeyemi has been charged with eight counts of criminal activity in the Federal High Court in Abuja for allegedly forging a letter from Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to the President. Adeyemi is accused of running 34 bank accounts under fictitious government agencies, including the Federal Capital Territory Investment Promotion Agency.

The police investigation revealed that he deceived foreign diplomats and requested visas for staff using fraudulent documents. The charges were filed on November 27, 2025, with a court date set for July 27, 2026.

The case originated from a complaint to the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission. Adeyemi's fraudulent activities included opening accounts at the Central Bank of Nigeria and using fake documents to mislead government officials.

The investigation also involved the death of Dolapo Babatunde Tanimola, who was found dead after being linked to the case. The presidency has urged a thorough investigation to uncover the network behind the forgery.
