Super Falcons Arrive in Style for WAFCON 2023

The Super Falcons of Nigeria arrived in Rabat, Morocco, on Saturday, dressed in elegant green-and-white Adire gowns with matching headwraps, showcasing their cultural heritage ahead of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). The players, including Esther Okoronkwo, Jennifer Echegini, and Michelle Alozie, engaged in social media activities, sharing videos and photos in their traditional attire.

The team, under the guidance of head coach Justine Madugu, concluded a 10-day training camp in Casablanca, where they achieved a 2-1 victory over Tanzania in a friendly match, boosting their confidence before the tournament. Nigeria, the most successful team in WAFCON history, will kick off their Group C campaign against Malawi on Tuesday at the Al Madina Stadium.

They will also face Zambia on August 1 and Egypt on August 5 at the Olympic Stadium. In celebration of their achievements, the Nigeria Football Federation unveiled a special 10-star Super Falcons jersey, representing each of Nigeria’s 10 WAFCON titles.
