Super Falcons Set for UK Training Camp Ahead of WAFCON

The Super Falcons, Nigeria's women's national football team, are set to embark on a training tour to the United Kingdom later this month as part of their preparations for the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). The training camp is scheduled to take place from May 23 to May 28, organized by the Nigeria Football Federation to keep the squad active despite the absence of FIFA international windows.

Head coach Justin Madugu indicated that the camp will provide an opportunity to assess new players and broaden the squad options ahead of WAFCON, where Nigeria will defend their title. The team has faced challenges in securing friendly matches, with Madugu noting that efforts to arrange games have repeatedly stalled due to reluctance from rival coaches.

The UK tour is expected to enhance team chemistry and evaluate new talent in preparation for the continental championship and the 2027 Women's World Cup qualifiers.
