Super Falcons' Ajibade: Ready to Fight for WAFCON Win

Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade expressed the team's determination to avoid back-to-back defeats at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, stating they were prepared to "die on the pitch." This statement followed Nigeria's vital 1-0 win over Zambia in Morocco, which came after a disappointing 3-2 loss to Malawi in their opening match. The match against Zambia was particularly challenging as defender Oluwatosin Demehin received a red card just before halftime, forcing Nigeria to play with ten players.

Despite this setback, Asisat Oshoala scored in the eighth minute, and the team held on for their first win and clean sheet of the tournament. Ajibade emphasized the players' focus and faith, stating there was no room for relaxation after the Malawi defeat.
