Falcons Aim for Redemption Against Cameroon in Friendly

The Nigerian women's national football team, known as the Falcons, is preparing for a second friendly match against Cameroon in Yaoundé on Tuesday, following a defeat in their first encounter on Saturday. In that match, Nigeria lost 1-0 due to a late goal from Yvana Mbomezomo, which was scored during stoppage time.

Comfort Erhabor, making her debut as goalkeeper, performed confidently despite the loss. Head coach Justin Madugu plans to adjust tactics and possibly change personnel for the upcoming match.

The Falcons, who are 10-time continental champions, are looking to redeem themselves after this defeat as they prepare for the Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) scheduled for March 17 to April 3, 2024, in Morocco. They will compete in Group C alongside Zambia, Egypt, and tournament debutants Malawi, with the top four teams earning automatic qualification for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup.
