Family of Four Dies After Eating Local Delicacy in Kogi

A tragic incident occurred in Ihima, headquarters of Okehi LGA in Kogi Central Senatorial District, where a family of four died after consuming a local delicacy known as Amala. In response, Mr. Kingsley Fanwo, the Commissioner for Information and Communications, announced that the Kogi State Government, under the directive of Gov.

Ahmed Ododo, has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths. The inquiry will focus on the possibility of food poisoning or contamination.

Fanwo stated that the Commissioner for Health has been tasked with this investigation, which will include examining relevant samples and evidence according to public health procedures. Additionally, reports indicated that the family’s dog also died after consuming the same meal, which will be included in the investigation.

The governor expressed his condolences to the bereaved family and assured the public that further information would be provided as the investigation progresses.
