Farmers Raise The Alarm Over Influx Of Substandard Fertiliser In Jigawa

The Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) in Jigawa State has raised concerns about the influx of substandard fertilizers in the market. The AFAN chairman, Engr Auwal Garba Ibrahim, stated that the association is collaborating with stakeholders to address this challenge.

They have engaged the Consumer Protection Council, which has promised to take appropriate action against those involved in producing and selling substandard fertilizers. The chairman urged farmers in the state to provide relevant information to the union and relevant agencies to combat this issue.

Additionally, the AFAN welcomed a Supreme Court judgment affirming Dr. Faruku Mudi as the substantive national president, believing it will help stabilize the organization and allow it to effectively carry out its mandate.

The Jigawa AFAN chapter called for unity among Nigerian farmers under one umbrella to promote sustainable national food security and development.
