FCC Advocates Fairness in Nigeria's Public Service

The Federal Character Commission (FCC), chaired by Hon. Peter Ez, held an oversight meeting in Abuja to advocate for fairness and inclusiveness in Nigeria's public service.

This session involved the Surveyor Council of Nigeria (SURCON) and the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT). The committee's objective is to assess compliance with federal character principles among government institutions and agencies.

Hon. Ez reiterated the importance of transparency, accountability, and equitable representation across ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs).

The committee aims to strengthen adherence to constitutional provisions regarding appointments and recruitment in public institutions. During the meeting, SURCON's delegation, led by Surveyor Olugbemiro Kunle and Dr.

Bayero Salih Farah, discussed issues related to institutional efficiency and inter-agency cooperation. The committee members, including Hon.

Halima Ahmadu Jabiru, Hon. Eludayo Eluyemi, Rt.

Hon. Victor Sabor Edoror, Hon.

Engr. Modu Mustapha, and Hon.

Sani Gener Garba, emphasized the necessity of stronger oversight for improved service delivery.
