NCC Advocates for Gender Inclusion in National Growth

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) called for gender inclusion as a vital driver for national growth during a leadership series held in Abuja. Dr.

Aminu Maida, the Executive Vice Chairman of NCC, emphasized the critical role women play in society and the telecommunications industry. He noted that strong women are essential for effective management teams and innovation.

The NCC has three women on its board and is committed to mentoring younger female leaders through various programs. Maryamu Idri, the current Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), participated in a fireside chat where she stressed the importance of skill acquisition for women to accelerate their career growth.

She highlighted the need for structured mentorship programs to build women's capacities, which are crucial for driving organizational and national growth.
