Tinubu Unveils Infrastructure Plans for Abuja's Growth

On Wednesday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu stated that the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) will evolve into a capital city that reflects Nigeria's growing population and national identity. He reaffirmed his administration's commitment to infrastructure-led development, particularly through the improvement of transport connectivity in Abuja.

During the commissioning of the N5 arterial road project, which connects Life Camp Junction and Dape District, Tinubu highlighted the importance of reducing logistics costs to encourage investment and job creation. He noted that the project, awarded to Julius Berger, is expected to be completed within fifteen months, with a flag-off date set for October 2024.

Tinubu commended Minister Barrister Nyesom Wike for driving infrastructure execution in the capital and urged citizens to comply with tax obligations to support development. He also called for the protection of public infrastructure from vandalism, emphasizing that the government will not abandon ongoing projects.
